The skills that you have acquired during a civic service, a voluntary activity, a commitment as a voluntary fireman... can be recognised and validated for your studies. This can take the form of ECTS credits, partial exemption from a work placement or bonus points. Each institution defines its own rules. You need to apply to your school.
It can also provide training rights with the CEC (Citizen Commitment Account) or be taken into account as part of a VAE (Valorisation des Acquis de l'Expérience).
