How do I fit in at the start of the school year?

Visit september and octoberBesançon releases its back-to-school agenda More than 70 sporting, cultural and musical events, mostly free or at reduced rates.

On the program:

  • Sports initiation: diving, paddle, oriental dance, fencing, salsa, rugby, rollerblading... ;
  • Cultural and festive events: concerts, theaters ;
  • Good deals: barter parties to buy equipment without spending anything, bike repair centers, etc.

Do I qualify for sports or cultural grants?

The year of your 18 years oldyou can obtain the culture pass. You will receive a credit of 150 € which will allow you to go to the theater, see a film or a show, take photography lessons (or anything else...), buy a novel or a manga, subscribe to a magazine or to online music...
Disabled people and families on modest incomes will receive an additional €50.

Visit Sport pass is a €50 grant from the French government to help students take out a license with a sports club or association. Students with scholarships or receiving annual assistance from the Crous can take advantage of this scheme up to the age of 28.
This also applies to students in health and social care courses, who receive an annual means-tested grant.

Does the City of Besançon offer any help with vacations?

The City of Besançon is offering assistance to help young people organize a vacation stayalone or with others: the ticket Departure. It is aimed at 15-25 years which live in Besançon. Students who have an address in the commune can benefit (even those living in university halls of residence). The amount is between €100 and €200, depending on income.

The Départ en voyage ticket must can be combined with other existing aid.

Campus Sport offers sports activities for students and staff of the university and partner establishments. These activities are accessible to people with disabilities: u-sports.univ-fcomte.fr

Le site www.handiguide.sports.gouv.fr is a directory which lists clubs and sports facilities that can accommodate people with disabilities. It was created by the French Ministry of Sports.
